Platon und das Schöne

In Plato's works, the beautiful has esthetic, ethical, epistemological and metaphysical relevance and thus can be said to be one of the integral figures of thought in his writings. In this volume, the authors deal with various philological-literary and philosophical approaches to differently focused problems pertaining to the form and nature of beauty, to beauty itself, to the role of Eros in the context of the beautiful as well as to the relationship between the beautiful and the good on the level of ideas.
